Advancing with Bio-technology IncubatorDepartment of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India (GOI) and Govt. of Punjab (GOP) in the year 2005, keeping in view the contribution of northern region in general and Punjab in particular in producing and meeting the food requirement of growing population of the country, sanctioned the setting up of “Biotechnology Incubator in Punjab Biotechnology Park” with Quality Testing & Certification Facility as one of the services. Punjab Biotechnology Incubator (PBTI) has come up with its state-of-the- art Agri& Food Testing Laboratory, which is set up at SAS Nagar (Mohali), the hub of Biotechnology and Information Technology in Punjab. PBTI is a State Govt. Undertaking registered as a ‘Society for Biotechnology Incubator’ under the Society Registration Act 1961 and  is professionally governed by Governing Council of the Society under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary. The day to day affairs are managed by Chief Executive Officer, supported by technical professionals of high calibre.The vision is to provide the most competitive state-of-the-art Quality Testing and R&D services to add value to user’s products & processes and support their success in global market by providing technically valid and reliable test data with high degree of credibility. The laboratory aims to assist the industry and society at large so as to impart a change in the outlook of people to uncompromising quality consciousness.PBTI’s strength has been its dedicated, scientific/technical staff of high calibre. PBTI is governed by the Governing Council headed by Chief Secretary to Govt. of Punjab and also comprising knowledgeable, experienced & eminent experts from academic institutions, industries and relevant State and Central Govt. Departments.
